The trailer of Hamari Adhuri Kahani released yesterday and the three-minute long promo is once again exemplary of Mohit Suri’s penchant for love stories that are anything but ordinary. The film starring Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao wins half the battle with its star cast. All three being actors of a good stature, looking at the trailer, it seems Mohit uses them to their full potential.
There is something strangely appealing in Vidya-Emraan’s chemistry and while their last film together, Ghanchakkar was a dud, it seems with Suri’s directorial love saga, the two may get their much-needed hit.
While the trailer may have Emraan Hashmi’s voice as the narrator and you may see Vidya and Emraan more, it is definitely going to be a treat to watch Rajkummar Rao in a grey shade. The Shahid star has established himself as an actor and we very well know how easily he can slip into any character. Playing Hari, the bearded brash husband, Rajkummar makes sure to give you chills with his scary avatar. On the other hand, Shagufta Rafique’s dialogues do their magic as they make you believe in the concepts of love, pain and sacrifice.
Playing the troubled wife, Vidya comes out strong in an intense scene where she is tightly slapped by Rajkummar’s character. Emraan is brilliant when it comes to being the romantic hero and in this film, he seems to be playing the role of a tycoon who may won the world over with finances but all he yearns for is Vidya’s love.
As any Mohit Suri film would have, Hamari Adhuri Kahani too is expected to have super-hit music that will give the film an added value. The trailer itself has some amazing music which is one brownie point element.
Overall Hamari Adhuri Kahani seems like a signature Mohit Suri film with some great performances from the trio. The emotional quotient and the music will certainly help this film soar and could prove to be a money spinner.
