Ankit Tiwari: Teri Galliyan (Ek Villain)


Termed to be the “love anthem” of the year, composed and sung by Ankit, Galliyan in all its true sense turned out to be one. Ankit’s voice justified the mood and the dept of the lyrics penned by Manoj Muntashir. Soft and soothing texture of his voice gave Galliyan a light yet impactful melancholy that the listeners loved to tune into repeatedly. Mohd. Irfan: Banjaara (Ek Villain)

Penned and composed by Mithoon, sung by Mohd. Irfan, Banjaara comes across as a beautiful song describing the confused emotion of a person who is unsure of being in love. Irfan’s voice has that subtle pause and pace which enhances the mood of the song keeping intact the pitch and maintain the continuity of emotion. The way he has sung the song has taken it to a level where the listeners got connected to the lyrics and the music. Banjaara is a difficult composition and Mohd. Irfan has sang it to perfection and so takes a much deserved place in our list of nominations for best male singer 2014.

Arijit Singh: Samjhawan (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania)

Arijit Singh’s rendition of the song Main Tenu Samjhawan is soulful. Though the song received mix reviews as many preferred the original version sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Arijit did a fair job in his voice striking the situational poignancy which the movie has. And hence takes a spot in our list of nominations for best male singer 2014.

Vishal Dadlani: Tu Meri (Bang Bang)

This high octane song composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by Vishal has amazing energy, scale, and a lot of fun. Vishal has done complete justice to this out and out party number with his powerful voice making the song a modern edgy EDM track. And hence, undoubtedly takes a spot in our list of nominations for best male singer 2014.

Benny Dayal: Tu Hi Toh Hai (Holiday)

Composed by Pritam, sung by Benny Dayal and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, Benny Dayal has done commendable job with Tu Hi Toh Hai making it catchy and not too up beat at the same time. He is one of the exceptional singers our industry has. And for his unusual style of singing, Benny Dayal takes a spot in our list of nominations for best male singer 2014.

Arijit Singh: Palat Tera Hero Idhar Hai (Main Tera Hero)

Penned by Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri, composed by Sajid- Wajid, Arijit has done complete justice to this fun song picturised on Varun Dhawan. Arijit has the quality of getting into the zone and the mood of the song which he sings. Be it a romantic, sad or a peppy number, he voices his best to any. And he does the same with Tera Hero Idhar Hai. And so takes a place in our list of nominations for best male singer 2014.
