Raj Kapoor – Rishi Kapoor – Randhir Kapoor
The true “Show Man” of Bollywood, his work changed the course of the way films were made and set the standards for actors to perform. With films like Aag, Awaara, Shree 420, etc. to his credit, he established himself as among the first megastars of the industry. Years later, he introduced his sons Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor in Kal Aaj Aur Kal and Bobby respectively and set the career on track. Both of them went to become notable actors and make appearances in films even today. Rishi and Randhir, both were last seen together in Housefull 2.
Rishi Kapoor – Neetu Singh – Ranbir Kapoor
If Dad was a chocolate-boy hero in his younger days, so is the Son now! Rishi Kapoor debuted as an actor in 1973 film Bobby and ever since, there has been no looking back for him. Having appeared in close to a 100 films till date, the actor-director-producer has won several awards for his performances. He got married to co-star Neetu Singh, who gave up her peak career to settle down in a family. Son Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in 2007 with Saawariya and has been in news for reasons more than one. He has acted in a dozen films in a span of five years, with Rockstar and Barf! being his most acclaimed performance till now.
Randhir Kapoor – Babita – Karisma Kapoor – Kareena Kapoor
Mother Babita had to forgo acting after marriage because of the typical Kapoor tradition, but she made sure that her daughters would not have to give up their dreams like her. Choosing kids over husband, she walked out on Randhir Kapoor, which made sure that Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor become what they are today. Both have acted in numerous films and have garnered much appreciation for their work, even winning awards for their films. While Kareena is among the reigning queens of Bollywood of today, Karisma is still gorgeous as ever.
Amitabh Bachchan – Abhishek Bachchan

Rakesh Roshan – Hrithik Roshan
The 63-year old actor, producer and director has acted in fewer films than his contemporaries, yet was successful in carving a niche for himself. He particularly gained popularity for making films starting with the letter K, many of which have been hits (like Kishen Kanhaiya, Karan Arjun, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, etc). Papa Rakesh Roshan launched Beta Hrithik Roshan in his 2000 film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai which was massive hit and broke all award-winning records. 12 years down the line, the actor with Greek-God looks has appeared in a number of notable films and is also famous for his exceptional dancing abilities.
Hema Malini – Esha Deol – Ahana Deol
The “Dream Girl” of millions of hearts shot to fame with her beauty and dancing skills not only in Hindi films but also in films of South Indian languages. Films like Seeta Aur Geeta, Sanyasi, Sholay, etc. strengthened her foothold in the industry. She had two daughters from her marriage to actor Dharmendra – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. The former is an actress, and barring a few odd films like Dhoom, Dus and No Entry, she has not had much commercial success. Ahana, on the other hand, is a trained classical dancer and will be making her debut in films soon. However, Hema Malini, Esha and Ahana perform in classical dance stage shows.
Sharmila Tagore – Saif Ali Khan – Soha Ali Khan
The first ever heroine to wear a bikini on-screen in Indian cinema, Sharmila Tagore was a notable actress of the 1960s and 70s. A favorite Shakti Samanta heroine, she acted in several of his films like Kashmir Ki Kali, An Evening in Paris, Aradhana and Amar Prem. She was a part of the Indian Film Censor Board till March 2011. She was married to cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, with whom she had three children- son Saif Ali Khan and daughters Soha Ali Khan and Saba. Saif is a noted Bollywood actor and was recently married to Kareena Kapoor. He has two children from his first marriage to Amrita Singh. Soha has also done few films, while Saba is a jewellery designer.
Jeetendra – Tusshar Kapoor – Ekta Kapoor
A talented actor and producer of television serials and films, Jeetendra was a megastar in his prime time. He became famous for his typical white trousers and white shoes, and also impressed audiences by his performances in many films throughout his 50-year career span. His daughter Ekta Kapoor is the Managing Director of their production company Balaji Telefilms, and is regarded as the soap-queen. Son Tusshar Kapoor is an actor, who generally stars in multi-starrer films and has hits like Golmaal series and The Dirty Picture to his credit.
Shatrughan Sinha – Sonakshi Sinha
An actor and a politician, Shatrughan Sinha started out with supporting roles in few films before becoming a part of Mere Apne in 1971. He has acted in Bhojpuri films as well and has won special awards for his achievement in the industry. His daughter Sonakshi Sinha had a dream debut opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg in 2010, and has had three more releases till date. She swept away almost all the “Best Debut” awards at major award functions and has quite a number of upcoming films in her kitty.
Dharmendra – Sunny Deol – Bobby Deol
If Hema Malini featured in this list, Dharmendra could surely not be far behind. The “He-Man” of the Hindi film industry has around 250 films to his credit and was regarded as the best-looking actor among his contemporaries. He has won several awards and recognitions in his career span of five decades. He has two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol from his first marriage. Both of them have a remarkable acting career, though not comparable to their father. The trio was last seen together in Yamla Pagla Deewana and will soon be seen in a sequel of the same.
Anil Kapoor – Sonam Kapoor – Rhea Kapoor
The first Mr. India of Bollywood started acting in 1979 in supporting roles, but later went on to star as lead hero in films like Meri Jung, Karma, Chameli Ki Shaadi, etc. He proved his versatility by doing action, comedy, romance and drama equally well. He is also a producer and has sung in few films. His beautiful daughter Sonam Kapoor debuted with Saawariya in 2007, and has appeared in seven films so far. Not only is she the brand ambassador of reputed cosmetic brands, but has also established herself as a fashion icon in the industry. Younger daughter Rhea Kapoor is a filmmaker and fashion designer.
Kamal Hassan – Sarika – Shruti Hassan
A multi-talented actor-producer-director-singer-lyricist, Kamal Hassan is not just popular down south but also quite established in the Hindi film industry. He has starred in plenty of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films and has also won many awards for his performances. Despite having a troubled family life, he never lost his fan following. His relationship with talented actress Sarika Hassan was the talking point of the entire country. Their love-children Shruti Hassan and Akshara are both dancers, with the former even making a mark in acting, singing and composing.
