The trailer of much-awaited December release, Dilwale was released yesterday. The film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles has created a huge hype. It is after My Name Is Khan that Shah Rukh and Kajol will be sharing screen space and certainly that is enough for their fans to go crazy about, without bothering much about the story.

Unfortunately, even though I am a fan of the ‘jodi’, I would have to be brutally honest here and say that the trailer did not excite me as much as the thought of seeing them together, hopefully the film will not do that. Well, the three minute long trailer of Dilwale serves you everything that one may expect in a Rohit Shetty film.

Taking off with a beautiful scene of Shah Rukh and Kajol, the trailer further introduces us to the other characters. Varun Dhawan impresses in his comic and stylish act while Kriti Sanon seems quite genuine too. What doesn’t quite fit right in the trailer is two odd comic scenes of Varun Sharma and Sanjay Mishra with Boman Irani. Minus that, the trailer reveals quite less about the story and then there is also a random exchange of dialogues between SRK and Kajol in which she quips, ‘Tum Dilwale Type Ke Ho’ which seems quite forced in the trailer to create an effect.

Shah Rukh’s big punchline in the trailer, ‘Hum Sharif Kya Hue, Poori Duniya Hi Badmash Hogayi’ sounds a lot like the famed Tanu Weds Manu Returns dialogue, ‘Hum Bewafa Kya Hue, Aap Toh Badchalan Hogaye‘.

When it comes to the action, there is nothing new but the fancy cars stunts which we all know are a Rohit Shetty signature. He has a penchant for flying cars and well, there have to be scenes where it happens.

Towards the climax of the trailer, we see that Shah Rukh’s character has grey shades and when he says ‘Meera Apni Shakal Kabhi Mat Dikhana’, we are left wondering what is the twist that makes these lovebirds against each other.

Arijit Singh’s ‘Alvida’ song makes it’s presence felt in the trailer and we can expect it to become a chartbuster very soon.

Overall, the Rohit Shetty affair seems a mixed bag of action, comedy and romance, with a high voltage drama of course!
