Shoojit Sircar’s Piku trailer was launched yesterday at a suburban multiplex in the presence of the star cast, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan, the director and the producer. Piku, a story of father and daughter’s beautiful relationship comes across as a light hearted quirky family entertainer.

As Deepika Padukone is seen playing a doting daughter taking care of her ‘Baba’ and at the same time managing her work as well, when asked how much of Piku has she taken back with her, she said, “A lot of Deepika has gone into Piku. Because I started working at a very young age and moved away from my family to perceive my career and lived in Bombay now for the last six, seven years. So I think automatically there is this concern; how are my parents doing health wise, are they happy… that concern is always there. Also Piku as a multi-tasker the kind of things that Piku does, she is not forced to do, she does it very happily and enjoys doing it. I am very much like that as a person. But yes there are moments in the film when we were shooting where we all thought of our parents at some point.”

The combination of simple yet interesting story and a trunk of talented actors, Piku seems to make a fun family cinematic ride.
