It was quite an ecstatic news for everyone in India when it was announced that actress Deepika Padukone was finalized for an important role opposite Vin Diesel in Fast and Furious 7. The franchise mesmerizes all for the adrenalin rush it evokes. With the last edition of the series doing great business in the country, the film’s makers wanted an Indian face too in their forthcoming film.

However reports suggest that the actress has to refuse the role given her prior commitments to many important films. Deepika, who is currently shooting in Dubai with Superstar Shah Rukh Khan for Farah Khan’s next film Happy New Year, the actress also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela in loop too.

Had Deepika agreed to the role, she would have to assign herself to the project immediately as the film goes on floors this month itself, hence disrupting all her other projects. The actress was needed in October for Fast and Furious but she had already assigned her dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela promotions as well as her other project Finding Fanny Fernandez.

Though many leading dailies have reported this as a ‘Hollywood hoax’ of sorts like in the case of Saif Ali Khan’s venture with Natalie Portman or Anushka Sharma being looped in for Steven Spielberg’s next, however, given Deepika’s success if the news is true at all, it is unfortunate that the lady missed the chance to be a part of a Hollywood blockbuster too!

  1. LOL!
    ROFL!
Deepika’s PR machinery in full action… agar Hollywood waalon ne yeh news padh lee… woh toh film banana hi chodd denge

  2. Guess it is indeed a hoax – fabricated to create buzz. Look at Ranveer and Deepika – it was rumored that they are “seeing each other”…in fact to promote “Ram Leela”…
But anyway, might also be the reason why Deepika refused was that the role was minor…not “important role” as stipulated in this article…
