Iconic villains like K N Singh, Pran, Amrish Puri, Amjad Khan, Prem Nath, Ajit and others with their magnificent performances raised the stature of “Villains” in Hindi cinema. The villain in a film is equally important than a hero, because the achievement of the hero gets bigger only after beating the villain.

And so here are the nominations for best villains of 2014 that made the heroes rise bigger.

Danny Denzongpa – Jai Ho (2014)

Danny Denzongpa played an evil Home Minister Dashrat Singh in Jai Ho. A crooked, arrogant and thuggish political figure, Danny was at his best, as always. He is one of the best villains of all time and deserves a place in our nominations for best Villain 2014, undoubtedly.

Freddy Daruwala – Holiday (2014)

Termed as the new evil icon, Freddy Daruwala’s performance as a terrorist in this Akshay Kumar starrer was appreciated. His suave villainy character was nothing less than a creative icing on the cake of similar flavors (Bollywood Villains). For his impressive acting skills, Freddy, the winner of Mr. India World Pageant takes a spot in our list of nominations for best villain 2014.

Amole Gupte – Singham Returns (2014)

Amole Gupte’s antagonist stint of evil godman was so good that the audience hated his character every time he came in the frame. And that’s enough to describe how good an actor he is, apart from being a brilliant screenplay writer and director. For his excellent performance, the multi-talented, Amole Gupte deservingly takes a place in our list of nominations for best villain 2014.

Tahir Bhasin – Mardaani (2014)

This young wicked and unscrupulous Karan Rastogi (Walt) of Mardaani was one with a style and swag. His cool cruel attitude was something that caught the attention of many and that too came across the screen effortlessly. And so the bad boy takes a spot in our list of nominations for best villain 2014.

Danny Denzongpa – Bang Bang (2014)

A brutal gang lord adds to our list of nominations for best villain 2014. Danny Denzongpa played the lead antagonist in Bang Bang, whose character Omar Zafar is shown to be a wanted terrorist. Danny makes for a menacing villain who is stylized well. As a nemesis to Hrithik Roshan’s character, he stands tall and we liked this action packed character of his and hence deserves a nomination in the Best Villain’s category.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui – Kick (2014)

His acting par excellence over powered the powerful Dabangg Khan, Salman in Kick. Nawazuddin played a corrupt businessman for which he received applauds and whistles in the theaters, especially for his egotistical evil laugh. The versatile Nawazuddin for his acting prowess makes it to our list of nominations for best villain 2014.
