Two years after the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer slick action film Don 2, the Farhan Akhtar directorial has run into troubled waters. Getting entrapped in a messy legal debacle of sorts, the film has run into troubled waters water 2 years after the release of the film.

The partner of Nariman Films filed a complaint against Excel Entertainment, claiming that they had only allowed remake rights for the film’s first edition. So technically Farhan Akhtar had no rights to make the film’s second installment.

Don had remained in trouble right from the onstart, even since Don‘s remake was conceptualized by Farhan. After much persuasion from scriptwriter Javed Akhtar, Nariman Films had decided to allow the film’s remake. But Don 2 was a copyright violation since the film’s remake rights were not bought officially from the Nariman Films’ Team.

The magistrate on Thursday directed the police to file a fresh report in the next 3 months. As per the fresh complaint, charges have been lodged against Excel Entertainment which includes Farhan Akhtar and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani, Red Chillies and SRK and Reliance Entertainment.
