She maybe ‘sleep deprived’ in her own words, but the supremely talented actor Cate Blanchett is set to wear a new hat- that of director.
Blanchett will develop and direct an Australian TV Series ‘Stateless’, that is based on the tragic story of Cornelia Rau. Rau, a German citizen and permanent resident of Australia, escaped a deadly cult, but subsequently battled a labyrinth of psychiatric & legal systems, and ended up in the rough Baxter Detention Centre.
This Australian star recently wowed audiences with her act in the play ‘The Present’, directed by her husband Richard Upton in London. The couple has recently adopted a baby girl from the USA, adding to their family of three sons. Blanchett therefore, has been losing sleep while caring for the baby girl.
Earlier, Blanchett had announced that she is developing a script to direct soon.
