The Ramleela controversy has still not ended. A local court in Muzaffarpur, Bihar issued arrest warrants against the film’s director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra. The charges have been filed in connection to a case alleging that the movie had elements offensive to the Hindu community.
Also producer Kishor Lulla as well as the musicians and lyricists have warrants issued on them. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha had filed a case in November last year claiming that a few scenes in the film hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. The arrest warrants were issued based on the same complaint.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court had earlier stopped the release of the film although the film was released later. However, the Chief Judicial Magistrate had summoned the actors and director for a hearing on February 14th but none of them turned up post which now, the warrants have been issued.
