T-Series along with Cape of Good Films, Crouching Tigers and Emmay Entertainment will jointly produce Akshay Kumar’s next titled Airlift that also stars Nimrat Kaur. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Airlift is a concept inspired by real life incidents of human evacuation specially in war zone areas.
Akshay Kumar along with his co-actors will start the shoot of the film in Bhuj, Gujarat on 20th Feb. The film which will be shot on a lavish scale has been in its pre-production stage since a few months deciding on the looks, production design etc and Raja is all set to helm the director’s mike again.
Producer Bhushan Kumar says, “The audience loved Akshay Kumar and his character in Baby and with Airlift they see him more strong, more confident and larger than life. The film shoot that starts next month will be grand and keeping the concept of the film in mind will be authentic. The team dedicated a lot of time to get the right looks, locations and production designs on place, to start rolling next month.”
Airlift is an uplifting and entertaining edge-of-the-seat thriller and is the story of the biggest ever human evacuation in the history of mankind. Starring Akshay Kumar in lead role of Ranjit Katyal (played by Akshay Kumar), a wealthy and powerful Indian businessman, who has always seen himself as a Kuwaiti, rather than an Indian, realizes that he no longer wields any influence on the Iraqis, and that he and his family are in as much danger as anyone else. Ranjit unknowingly becomes the man who all 1,70,000 Indians look up to for getting them out safely from Kuwait. Airlift is the story of Indians stranded in Kuwait during this traumatic time.
