While Akshay Kumar works at an average of 3-4 films a year, there is a specific set of people that he is usually associated with. Around for over 20 years, Akki has a trusted group of actors and technicians which form a critical mass of people around him. Hence for Aditi Rao Hydari, a rank outsider, to step into his Boss, it was a big deal indeed!
“Aditi met Akshay for the first time in his office when producers had called for a meeting. He had an extended chat with the pretty young woman and complimented her for the kind of talent that she had shown in her earlier films. He did tell her to sustain the momentum and continue to utilise her potential to the fullest,” informs a source.
“He then went ahead to tell her that he had good faith in her and hence wanted her to make the best use of opportunities provided to her so as to best show her acting talent. Since he has put his money earlier on actresses like Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha, who are not in a very comfortable state, there was good reason for Aditi to feel elated since she was getting a break in an Akshay starrer as the solo leading lady, albeit opposite relative newcomer Shiv Pandit,” the source continues.
Elated with the kind of trust shown in her, Aditi made sure to deliver at every opportune moment right through the shooting of Boss.
“As an actor you can’t be complacent, you have to be dynamic,” says Aditi, “You have to bring out something special on the table. Audience needs to form certain connect with you so that they can take a piece of you on their return back home. I do understand that this is something really important and I have worked on it in Boss.”
As this Anthony D’Souza directed film gears up for 16th October release, Aditi quips, “Once the film releases and feedback starts pouring in, I am looking forward to what he has to say about my work on screen.”
