Akshay Kumar unlike his comedy movies did something which his fans love to see him in. With a good story and direction, the actor gave his best as captain Virat to Holiday. The action sequences were done perfectly, his romance with Sonakshi Sinha was appreciated and above all his quest as a soldier was played very well. No over the top drama and just pure Akshay Kumar style acting won him accolades.

Siddharth Malhotra did not play the villain in the movie exactly but his role was unusual, a rare of what usually a newcomer would do. Well he portrayed the anti hero in the movie and made his presence strong, his acting was one of the best as he managed to convey his emotions to audience with a few limited dialogues. The movie Ek Villain is surely a career highlight for Siddharth Malhotra.
