Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal is a Priyadarshan film that promises comedy, love and a bit of action too. The music composed by Sajid-Wajid has an Indian feel which makes it stand out from most of the other albums in the offering. Also, it does well in going with the film’s plot.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review – Dariya Ho

The album begins with the track ’Dariya Ho’, a duet by Shadaab Faridi and Monali Thakur. A romantic and a gentle melody with some ‘desi’ beats, it is a pleasant outing for the listeners. There is a 90s charisma to it with an impressive use of flute. Lyrics by Jalees Sherwani are impressive, rhyming and very well support the composition’s flow. The ‘remix’ which follows is of relatively shorter duration and not as gratifying and enjoyable as the original.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review- Desi Mem

Next to arrive is an item number ‘Desi Mem’ which has Mamta Sharma bringing her vocals behind the mike. The hook line in the chorus is really catchy while Wajid does well in penning the entire track that captures the essence of the situation well. The ‘remix version’ though quite similar to the original (albeit with higher beats) is interesting too.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review- Zor Naache

‘Zor Naache’ is a duet which has Keerti Sagathia and Suganda Mishra coming together. This song is a true ‘desi’ number which rightly portrays an all around atmosphere of joy, rejoice and happiness. Sajid-Wajid have used ‘dhol’, ‘nagaare’ and ‘manjeera’ well in their composition aptly depict full-on-masti mood in the community. Wajid’s lyrics are captivating too.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review- Ishq Ki Dafli

‘Ishq Ki Dafli’ is another ‘desi’ rendition which resembles ‘Zor Naache’. It is good to see Babul Supriyo making a comeback of sorts while gaining good company of Sugandha Mishra and Bela Shinde. Though one still feels that the composition could have benefited with added spunk, Jalees Sherwani’s lyrics are good enough to leave an impact on the listener.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review- Ringa Ringa

The album moves forward with ‘Ringa Ringa’ which carries the same mood as the songs arriving before it. Singer Ujjaini is energetic throughout the course of the track and does well in uplifting the mood of the album further. Moreover, Jalees Sherwani’s lyrics are simple and straight forward. The ‘remix version’ fits in well too.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review- Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Theme

Last to arrive is ’Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Theme’ which has vocals of Uvie and Wajid. A short track which does well in supporting the (comic) theme of the film, its beats continue from where ‘Ringa Ringa’ left.

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal Music Review- The Last Word

Sajid-Wajid come up with a decent album here and though the overall impact isn’t on the same lines as their recent work in films like ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’, their compositions should do well in aiding the film’s narrative.
