Despite most riveting performances from its actors, the film was a dismal flop and earned a bare amount of 12.25 crore. For many years that followed, Hrithik went through a dry phase till Koi Mil Gaya happened to him and he hasn’t tasted his bad days ever since!

His next film Kidnap, though began strongly at the box office, wasn’t received very well by the audiences. It took Khan a while to emerge out of low phase. But the enthralling success of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na could not get recreated till Delhi Belly.

Made on a humble budget, the film only managed to earn 5.75 crores at the domestic box office beginning a plague period in acting for him.

While a second low is not always deterring rather it eases out any bloated over confidence the actor may have acquired, it is popularly believed that most stars who have a low second release after a booming first have tasted greater success in the tinsel town, but exceptions always exist. Bambai nagariya mein sab kuch kismet a khel hai jee!

“After Krrish 3 I have Bang Bang, which is starting in a few days. I am really looking forward to that,” he said at the launch of a fitness book by Kris Gethin called “The Bodybuilding.com: Guide to Your Best Body”.

When asked who he would like to gift the book to, he said: “I think six-pack has become common. Everyone has it. They all look good. It is nice to spread the word of health and fitness in a prominent way… I think I want to give the book to everyone.”

When the events are such celebrity packed affairs it is indeed a crucial and much needed beginning for the film. The star cast of the film Dharamendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol played the perfect hosts for the evening and enthused energy in the show by dancing to the tunes of Main Aida Hi Nachna.

Legendary actor Dharamendra, who stars in the film along with his sons Bobby and Sunny exclaimed gleefully, “I have always wanted to say this and today everyone is there including the media. I want to say that I am the no. 1 dancer. My son Sunny has planned a special song for me, ‘Main aida hi nachna’.”

The actor who has ruled Bollywood for years in his times was seen in an unusually quirky avatar with the first edition of Yamla Pagla Deewana. He was humbled by the presence of his colleagues and other actors and said, “I am so happy for the love and respect which they give me. They all meet me so nicely. Today, whatever I am is because of their love. I wish them all the best and a long life. They should have good films and success should come to them.”

Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 also starsNeha Sharma and Kristina Akheeva. The film is all set to release June 7.

Karan Johar’s first solo production came with Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, which he directed as well. Backing a controversial and bold film Kurbaan, centered around Islamic fundamentalism and global terrorism, Karan Johar focused mainly on delivering a powerful story rather than counting his bills. The film could not manage a decent box office collection and rested its nett earnings at 24 crores at the domestic box office.

It was hard to deter Johar’s faith on scripts especially on ones his conviction laid. Despite not being able to deliver a hit from the Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Kurbaan, Karan still backed debutant director Ayan Mukherji’s heartwarming film Wake Up Sid starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. The film traces the coming of age of its protagonist’s lackadaisical nature that must learn the value of responsibility. The film went on to become a hit with a total domestic collection of 28.50 crores.

Karan gambled a large part of his money on his dream venture My Name is Khan. Starring his favorite actors Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the film was set on the backdrop of victimization of Muslims following 9/11 scenario. The film an all-in-all SRK was lauded by critics as a perseverant effort at showcasing the issue without a judgmental approach.

Dharma Productions followed up the success of Agneepath with their high school romance film, Student of the Year launching three new faces in Bollywood – Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The film was a typical slice from trademark KJo style of ornate film sets set up in posh locations. The film went on to become a super hit by earning over 70 crores at the domestic box office despite the presence of new stars in lead roles.

Though a couple of his co-productions had doomed concepts like Kaal with Red Chillies and I Hate Luv Storys with UTV, yet there is one memorable co-production out of Dharma that deserves a special mention. Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu was a beautiful concept that stays true-to-the-term modern age love story.

While Bombay Talkies is getting Karan Johar brilliant reviews for making a bold short film, quite unlikely his style and sensibility of cinema, it quite brought out the man’s honest affinity towards building earnest films. With Gippi working on the same lines delving into a story of an adolescent girl dealing with peer pressure, looking towards beauty and popularity, it is a realistic film from KJo’s brand that will definitely earn back its investment. However, it entirely depends on the film’s essence whether it will earn any beyond. Karan Johar’s stamp on the film will attract its initial audiences but the eventual pull will be based on a positive word of the mouth which depends on the film’s intrinsic value.

Kangana Ranaut has the unique ability of grabbing the focus in the little stints she does in her films. Careful observation will tell you that the lady in all her films, barring a few like Tanu Weds Manu, has never had the film’s entire focus on herself alone. Beginning with Gangster, her role has never had the sparkling onus all on herself. Being a Emraan Hashmi, Shiney Ahuja film, it was her powerful acting that helped her get noticed.

Even in the Anurag Basu venture Life In A Metro, she managed to grab eyeballs despite the presence of more experienced and powerful actors like Kay Kay Menon, Shilpa Shetty, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan. Matching up her level of skill with theirs, she was majestic in her little role in the film.

Continuing to her last film, Shootout At Wadala, the script has cringed on every character saving that of Manya Surve played by John Abraham. Despite this loophole, she manages to bring tenderness on screen with the overflowing grace of her character.

Lately the buzz has it that Ranaut is picking her roles very carefully. Loaded with impressionable work, she fantastically juggles between projects. Her most important upcoming lead will be Filmkraft’s Krrish 3. An Indian Superhero film, the film will be an all-in-all Hrithik Roshan affair with Priyanka Chopra playing his prime aide. Procuring the second female lead in the film, it won’t be surprise if she manages to scrape through with commendable reviews for her role. But will she be able to stand out in the film?

With a meaty on screen stint in the film, we just hope that the lady will once again create wonders with her character.

However Kangana, even after years in Bollywood has maintained her professionalism intact. She said, “I’m an actor. I get assignments, I do my work and I stay totally detached from my movies. It’s good if a film does well but that’s not going to change my attitude or commitment to my work.”

From the recording studio of the film, Music director Salim Merchant from the Salim-Suleiman duo tweeted a picture of him at work on the film’s music with the film’s director Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan. While the main album of the film is usually done by Hrithik’s uncle Rajesh Roshan, this time Salim-Suleiman took over the film’s entire album altogether. The duo had previously worked with Filmkraft team on the background score of Krrish which released in 2006.

Actor Vivek Oberoi, who is currently working with Hrithik Roshan on Krrish 3, is absolutely awestruck by his co-star claiming that Krrish 3 will be legendary film that will surpass all of Hrithik’s previous works.

Though Vivek has been striving for the much desired success that kick started his career in Bollywood with films like Company and Saathiya, his last few ventures struck a dismal low at the box offices. Kismet Love Paisa Dilli and Zila Ghaziabad  both being much anticipated films failed to strike the desired chords at the box office!

All the previous films of the Krrish trilogy have been magnanimously successful with which one can expect a good response for this upcoming sci-fi film. I think it’s one of the best roles of my career and I am very, very excited about it.”

He went on to praise the series and mostly Hrithik’s impeccable work emphasizing that he entails the ‘aura of a legend’.

The film Krrish 3 which will be the concluding part of this science fiction series in slotted for a November 3rd release. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut in main role and is being directed by Rakesh Roshan.

Bang Bang will be directed by the very talented Siddharth Anand (Bachna Ae Haseeno, Anjaana Anjaani, Salaam Namaste). Bringing together two of the hottest stars of tinsel town, the film will be shot across Europe, Far East and India and will feature spectacular stunt sequences, intense chemistry and edge of the seat excitement, as Hrithik and Katrina will scorch the silver screens in never before seen avatars.

Krrish 3, which is a sequel to Krrish, India’s hi-tech superhero flick, has Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles along with Vivek Oberoi who plays the role of Kaal, the super villain. High on euphoria and frenzy, Krrish 3 has already started making news with the recent reports that suggest that the film maker has decided to schedule his Diwali release for a Sunday, other than the normal stereotypical Friday release or at times Wednesday or a Thursday release.

With so much of pepper and salt thrown in, Krrish 3 is definitely one to watch out for!

Hrithik is currently working on the film’s post production. He told to a leading daily recently, “It will take another six to seven months. It is my most ambitious project. I have worked very hard. I have put all my passion into it. You sleep with a satisfaction in your heart and wake up with a mind buzzing with ideas. November 1 is the release date and I hope everything comes out well.”

Krrish 3 is the concluding part of the hugely popular science fiction series, Koi Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006). Krrish gave Hrithik Roshan the stature o fIndia’s very own superhero and Krrish 3 will hopefully just go a step forward in escalating his popularity.
