Bollywood as an industry is booming with a zooming pace. Films are mostly money spinning ventures and success index in Bollywood is mostly counted on the basis of its profit margins. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which has emerged as a blockbuster hit, has so far recorded a total domestic collections of 173 crores at the Domestic Box Office.

With this, the film has so far made a profit of 128 crores and its ROI percentage has struck the 284% mark.

In terms of ROI, the film has now beaten ABCD and has replaced it on the second position on Koimoi’s Profit Rankings List. Though Aashiqui 2 still tops in terms of ROI with a profit rate of 583%, a record YJHD might find difficult to overtake.

The total overseas collections of the film is 6.30 crores so far, taking its total worldwide nett to 43.10 Crores.

With that the film has crossed the 50 crore gross income mark. The worldwide gross collections of the film that now rests at 55.32 crores is a modest sum going by the success of YPD (2011).

With Poonam Pandey’s Bollywood debut in Amit Saxena’s Nasha is being received with raising eyebrows, it has undeniably garnered a considerable amount of attention for itself. The film that is directed by Amit Saxena, who had ealier directed Jism is now planning Nasha 2 as well.

With Nasha’s look being extremely bold and its content very explicit, a leading daily reported that Nasha 2 is scheduled to go on floors by end of this year.

The talks about the film’s sequel is already in order. The story of the sequel will not flow from Nasha but is expected to explore more sensuality quotient than Nasha did. The sequel is still in its ideating stage with the script getting constantly drafted and substantiated. Poonam has still not agreed to play the lead role in the sequel, but she is undoubtedly the immediate choice for the role.

Box Office Predictions: Raanjhanaa, Shortcut Romeo And Enemmy

As many as three films release this weekend - Raanjhanaa, Shortcut Romeo and Enemmy . Out of these, Raanjhanaa has been the most heavily promoted while Shortcut Romeo and Enemmy have seen some decent visibility around them.

Though this is leading to a crowded box office, Raanjhanaa is all set to get the best shows at the multiplexes due to backing of a strong production house (Eros). Moreover, director Aanand L Rai has a hit (Tanu Weds Manu) behind him which helps the film’s cause as well. The Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor starrer will enjoy the biggest release amongst the three films and also a better opening. For a good number to be calculated though, a lot would depend on the word of mouth as this one is a family entertainer and hence a growth over the weekend is possible once the word spreads about it.

Shortcut Romeo And Raanjhanaa Enemmy Movie Poster

On the other hand Shortcut Romeo is expected to take a better start at the single screens due to ‘masala’ elements involved. For Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel, the film is quite important as it should help them build a better standing. The film is a remake of a Tamil hit and hence one can look forward to some good content on display here. However, it would all come into play only after a first set of audience step into theatres and spread a good word of mouth on a rapid scale.

Ditto for Enemmy which appears to be an intriguing suspense flick. It has been embroiled in Censor controversies that has put a brake on its marketing and promotional plans. However, if single screen audience catches fancy of the film, there are continued footfalls that the film can expect since next week there is just one release (Ghanchakkar).

Akshay Kumar’s It’s Entertainment starring Tamannah Bhatia is all set to be shot in Bangkok. The suggestion that was made by Akshay, made him reminiscent of his early days in Bangkok. The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Trailer that released yesterday managed to leave an overwhelming impact on me. The film’s trailer uses a plethora of strong images and contrast it with innocent ones to leave a lingering feel. It goes without saying that Farhan Akhtar has not only pushed the envelope in terms of physical fitness but he manages to smoothly fit in the magnanimous role of Milkha Singh.

Specifically, I like the bit where Farhan who has put up a chiseled show mellows down and plans the names of his kids with Sonam Kapoor. The actress who will seen with Farhan for the first time seems to play her role with freshness and vigor.

The film that is a biopic from its trailer can be expected to stay close to real occurrences. Since Milkha Singh, who went on to become India’s shining athlete in the 1958 Asian Games where he won two gold medals, was involved in the film’s scripting and making closely, the makers were left with mild scope to tamper with the story.

Director Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra is known to be more fluent with powerful cinema and with that the expectations from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag doubles up. Though Mehra delivered a damp Delhi 6, the mass moving capability of Rang De Basanti still remains infallible.

The Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio have done a fantastic job with the film’s music. Songs that sync in with the script, might turn out to be one of film’s most pivotal strongholds. Zinda has a hint of calamity in it which captivates your soul. Farhan’s hard work on his physique is evident. The rigorous challenge makes him stand out with infectious confidence. The bare bodied scenes are indeed a plus and the scene in which he runs with a tyre tied to his stomach, is an absolute ace!

After a long time, a trailer has left me with strong an urge to watch the film. Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar together have woven a sparkling tall figure of a man who has an unbeatable place in history. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag that will release on 12th July, is undoubtedly one of the first on my most awaited films’ list of 2013.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Will Not Release In Pakistan

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is banned in Pakistan. The film apparently has a line that has the protagonist played by Farhan Akhtar muttering a dialogues that says he doesn’t want to go to Pakistan. The film that traces the life of athlete, Milkha Singh, who was a victim of 1947 Partition riots and his family was brutally murdered in the riots.

The Censor Board of Pakistan took specific objection to that line and has hence refused the release of the film there! The film that is produced by Viacom 18 stuck to their ground of staying true to the reality, since the film is a biopic and hence decided to not edit and release the film in Pakistan. Though the story would have been relevant for both countries, and doesn’t focus on animosity, it is better such strained relations are not meddled with.
