Biography – Priyadarshan is a director, producer, and screenwriter. After making films in South Indian film industry, he directed a film Muskurahat in 1992, but the film failed to do well at the box-office. In 1993 he made Gardish starring Jackie Shroff and Dimple Kapadia. After a long pause in Hindi films, he returned with Virasat in 1997. The film was widely appreciated and was a box-office success. The success of this Anil Kapoor starrer film established Priyadarshan as a director in Bollywood. After making a couple of films from 1997 to 2000, his major breakthrough was 2000 hit comedy film Hera Pheri. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Tabu and Paresh Rawal. Hera Pheri made Akshay and Paresh new comedy kings overnight. In 2004 he made Hulchul with Akshaye Khanna and Kareena Kapoor. The following year he delivered Garam Masala starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. He made Kyon Ki, in 2005 starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor but the film failed at the box-office. Priyadarshan’s success continued with films like Chup Chup Ke, Bhagam Bhag, Malamaal Weekly, Dhol, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan and Mere Baap Pehle Aap. But his other films like  Billu, Bumm Bumm Bole, Khatta Meeta and Aakrosh failed to live up to the expectations. His upcoming film is Ajay Devgan starrer Tezz.
