Thugs Of Hindostan, Zero, Race 3: The first quarter of 2018 has definitely shown a lot of promise to moviegoers, raising expectations after a not-so great 2017. Content-driven movies performed well at the box office, and filmmakers started focusing more on storytelling than on simply raking in the money.

With releases like Padmaavat, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, PadMan and many more, filmmakers enthralled the audience while having a successful run at the box office. Till now, with just a little over a quarter, the major movies have raked in more than 900 crores.

With many more anticipated films coming this year, it will be interesting to see how they will fare in terms collections. So here are our predictions about some of the biggest releases this year:

Raazi – 60 crores

The Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer espionage thriller has got fans hyped up. The film is based Harinder Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat.

Veere Di Wedding – 80 crores

Touted as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s comeback to the silver screen after 2 years, there are a lot of expectations from the film, as it features an all female lead cast.

Race 3 – 300 crores

The Race franchise already has a big fan-base due to its high octane action sequences and unpredictable twists. Now with Salman in the lead, the hype for the latest installment is higher than ever.

Dhadak – 70 crores

Inspired by the 2016 Marathi film Sairat, the film stars Ishaan Khatter, Shahid Kapoor’s brother and also marks the Bollywood debut of Janhvi Kapoor, Sridevi’s daughter.

Manikarnika – 150 crores

Post Baahubali and Padmaavat, we have a new period drama hitting the cinemas. Manikarnika is based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai, featuring Kangana Ranaut and Ankita Lokhande in leading roles.

A sports drama inspired by India’s victory in hockey at the 1948 Olympics as a free nation, it stars Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy in the lead.

Sanjay Dutt Biopic – 250 crores

While not much has been confirmed about the film aside from the cast, it has managed to generate a lot of hype, as it is based on one the most controversial people in Bollywood ie Sanjay Dutt.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu – 70 crores

With his previous directorial Toilet: Ek Prem Katha becoming a success, expectations are high for Shri Narayan Singh’s upcoming film starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam.

Sui Dhaaga – 100 crores

Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan once again push their boundaries in this Sharat Katariya film about self reliance and pride.

  1. Veere di wedding wil be a flop and it will going to be collect near about 50 cr. Dhadak would be collect 80 cr . Sui Dhaaga will collect 70 cr in overall run. Gold will not going over near to 150 cr as per ur prediction, It may be 125 cr Movie.
    Kedarnath will be flop .BGMC of Shahid will be a hit with 90 cr collection . Salman Khan race will collect between 250 to 280 Cr .
