Poonam Pandey; Heroine; Emraan Hashmi: Daily Dose
Poonam Pandey: Moony Starlet
Poonam Pandey, the latest addition to the tribe of the desperate attention-seeking Bollywood starlet, is on a roll. She has been using her Twitter profile quite regularly to post nude/semi-nude photos of herself. The 19-year-old Mumbai-based model, who had claimed to disrobe if the Indian cricket team won the world cup, posted a photo of hers “without bikini” on the micro-blogging platform on Wednesday, 29 February 2012.
Unlike those who were waiting with bated breath to check out their favourite model in the nude, or googling desperately to find the right image, this writer was completely switched off by this stunt. Of course, when we got around to looking for the image later, it wasn’t to be found. Apparently someone had taken it off Twitter. Any guesses?
Save your breath.
Emraan: The Blue-Eyed Boy?
The Times Of India reports that Emraan Hashmi may be doing a Yash Raj film to be helmed by Badmaash Company director Parmeet Sethi. Although there has been no official confirmation of the same by YRF, the news is sure to bring cheer to Emraan’s multitude of fans.
For, if the actor bags this proposal, he will have made a huge switch in his career. Remember that Emraan started out as the Bhatt camp’s favourite, playing many shady characters that others actors would not touch with a bargepole. However, when his hard work (supported, of course, by a string of musical hits) started to pay off, Emraan got noticed by the rest of the industry. So, while Milan Luthria gave the actor very good roles in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture, Emraan also proved his mettle at the box-office with Murder 2, which was one of the super-hits of 2011.
Things are only getting better for the 32-year-old actor. Right now, Emraan’s got Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai lined up for release in June 2012. He’s also got Ghanchakkar, where he pairs again with Bollywood’s latest female sensation, Vidya Balan.
A Yash Raj film at this stage would work wonders for the former ‘serial kisser’, won’t it?
No Inspiration; Only Sweat
When director Madhur Bhandarkar, who is wont to taking to his Twitter account to clarify rumours (read news reports) about his films and personal life, dispelled the notion that his magnum opus Heroine is not inspired by the life of Manisha Koirala, we heaved a sigh of relief.
“#Heroine‘s not inspired by Manish Koirala’s life. It’s a figment of imagination. People should check facts before creating such stories,” the filmmaker had tweeted on Tuesday.
After all, who would want to see Kareena Kapoor play Manisha Koirala?
Off The Hook
Bollywood actor Fardeen Khan, whom we have not seen on-screen for two years now, had some good news and some bad news coming his way in the past few days. Two days after a relative of his passed away in a car accident in Delhi, Fardeen was freed in the infamous cocaine case that had been bugging him for the last decade.
