Most films usually see the release of their first look trailer or promo first. But for Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, the makers played a different game. They first released the song Aadat Se Majboor featuring Ranveer Singh. Their idea was that people should get a feel and get charmed by the main character – Ricky Bahl – before they see the trailer of the film.
Inspiration?
Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl is reportedly inspired from the Marathi play To Mee Navhech (1968), which in turn has inspired a couple of Tamil and Kannada films.

A Band Baaja Baaraat Reunion
The film was like the reunion of the Band Baaja Baaraat team. Not only were the lead actors, Anushka and Ranveer, the same, the director (Maneesh Sharma), producer (Aditya Chopra), music directors (Salim and Sulaiman Merchant), lyricist (Amitabh Bhattacharya), cinematographer (Aseem Mishra) and dialogue writer (Habib Faisal) were also the same for both the movies!
Doing The Six-Pack Trick
How can Ranveer be in Goa and not flaunt his abs?! The actor had to work out regularly to get the awesome six-pack abs to go shirtless in the Goa schedule of the movie. And the women aren’t complaining!
Accidents Aplenty
Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh were not very lucky when it came to vehicles. They had accidents when on a scooter and on a jet ski. Well, at least they didn’t have any air travel…
First Time On A Bike
Ranveer may know all the tricks when it comes to charming the women, but when it comes to two wheelers, the actor fell short. Director Maneesh Sharma had to teach Ricky Bahl to ride a scooter in Goa. And sure enough, Ranveer was a fast learner!
The Show Must Go On
If accidents weren’t enough, you had the stars getting injured as well. During the shooting of a scene, Ranveer’s bike skidded and fell on him. Ranveer burnt his foot in the accident but insisted to continue shooting after being tended to by a doctor.

The Shah Rukh Khan Connection
Ricky Bahl’s caller tone in the movie is the famous dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan‘s Baazigar,”Haar kar jeetne waalon ko baazigar kehte hai.” In fact, Ranveer even mentions Shah Rukh towards the end of the film.

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl was made on an approximate budget of Rs. 25 crore.
