Is it about time for Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Barfi!’?

Should Ranbir Kapoor be upping the ante sooner than later? That’s the question making rounds amidst many a film buffs what with his upcoming film ‘Barfi!‘ waiting to build momentum building around itself.

“It is hard to believe that a Ranbir Kapoor film is round the corner and that too in less than three weeks”, comments an observer, “It is about time that there is added frenzy that is usually attached to his films. Last year ‘Rockstar‘ had arrived amidst so much of hype and had taken the best opening ever for a Ranbir starrer. On the other hand ‘Barfi!‘ is surprisingly playing low key. Agreed that last few weeks were all about ‘Ek Tha Tiger‘ due to which not many films could gain many eyeballs. Still, a Ranbir Kapoor starrer should have seen a better build up.”

An insider adds, “Perhaps it’s the strategy of the makers to keep the hype low for ‘Barfi!‘ since it’s one of those usual quintessential blockbuster films in the making. Still, Ranbir Kapoor won’t mind a little better push because as far as one can make out from the promos, he seems to have acted really well.”

On the other hand Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t really gain many brownie points with ‘Teri Meri Kahaani‘, too has been unusually quiet about ‘Barfi!‘.

Here is hoping that this ‘Barfi!‘ does turn out to be sweet indeed. The film releases all over on 14th September.
