Amitabh Bachchan expressed horror at the massive fire that broke out in Bandra, Mumbai. Known as the Queen of Suburbs, Bandra is home to many Bollywood stars including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rekha, etc.

“I express horror at this great big fire at Bandra…” Amitabh wrote on Twitter.com. While the fire broke late evening on Friday, March 04, 2011, most Bollywood stars got to know of the news through the electronic media and Twitter. Other Bollywood stars also expresses their solidarity. Actor Arshad Warsi wrote, “My heart goes out to all the victims of the fire in Bandra… What an unfortunate event…”

Ritesh Deshmukh said, “Absolutely shocked to see the visuals of a big fire at Bandra- Hope the fire dept gets it in control soon n pray for the safety of people there.”

Film writer Mushtaq Shiekh smelled conspiracy. “Massive horrible fire in Bandra East! Sorry for adding fuel to fire.. But I suspect foul play by vested interests to displace the poor! Sad,” Sheikh wrote on Twitter.com.

The child actors of the Oscar-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire, used to stay in the Bandra slum which is the site of the massive fire.
