Student Of The Year Music Review- The Disco Song
‘The Disco Song’ is a pleasant tribute by Vishal- Shekhar to the legendary Nazia Hassan. This is a nice, energetic club outing that can take you to the dance floor. Vocals by Benny Dayal and Sunidhi Chauhan are well supported by pieces that have been taken from Nazia’s original track. The original catchy lines of Disco Deewane are neatly wrapped by arrangements that are good enough to attract young audiences. The intermittent hint of ‘Ishq Wala Love’ makes it’s even more melodious, hence further taking expectations of the listeners to a new high.
Student Of The Year Music Review- Ishq Wala Love
The album is carried ahead with ‘Ishq Wala Love’ which is a romantic melody in the mesmerizing vocals of Shekhar Ravijiani, Salim Merchant and Neeti Mohan. This one is a soft outing with arrangements of light beats all around the track. Altogether, this number is soothing and easy on ears which will surely mark an addition to Karan’s huge bunch of chartbusters.
Student Of The Year Music Review – Kukkad
‘Kukkad’ is a Bhangra-Pop composition in the vocals of Shahid Mallaya, Nisha Mascarenhas and Mariann. This composition is a good fusion of a ‘desi’ tune with modern beats that is full on ‘masti’. Though not quite covering as much distance as the songs heard before this, it would certainly do well in weddings and other family celebrations.
Student Of The Year Music Review- Radha
Next to come is the track ‘Radha’ which has a slow and semi-classical opening to it. However within seconds the track picks up the pace and takes off as a fast dance number. With vocals by Vishal, Shekhar and Shreya Ghoshal, the song also has sound arrangements which bring on a nice fusion of hip-hop that keeps the overall tempo consistently high.
Student Of The Year Music Review- Ratta Maar
Next to arrive is ‘Ratta Maar’ which is a cool situational campus track in the vocals of Vishal Dadlani who is joined by Shefali Alvarez. This song is all about trauma and examination stress but never gets serious. Instead, it is filled with energy and youthfulness that will surely remind you of your college days.
Student Of The Year Music Review- Vele
‘Vele’ is a yet another grooving party number in the vocals of Vishal and Shekhar. The track is another youthful saga that stresses upon being carefree in life. The beats incorporated by the composer duo are addictive which would certainly uplift the mood of the listener. ‘Vele’ is further packed with Punjabi slangs such as ‘tota’, ‘gedi’, ‘peg-sheg’ etc. which makes it a complete fun song.
Student Of The Year- Mashup Of The Year
The album ends with ‘Mashup of the Year’ that is an impressive experiment as it includes fusion of all tracks in the album. This one has been done magnificently and seamlessly picks elements from each of the tracks. Beautifully done, one just cannot miss listening to this mashuhup; it’s superb!
Student Of The Year- Final Word
‘Student Of The Year’ turns out to be a very good album with the film’s subject being very well justified by Vishal and Shekhar along with Anvita. All tracks in the album have a young feel to them which should certainly pull audiences, especially young college crowds, to theatres.
